"Minerals of New Mexico" Poster Published

SOCORRO, N.M. -- The New
Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (NMBGMR) recently
published a full-color poster featuring 19 mineral specimens from
New Mexico. The minerals selected for the poster offer a glimpse
of the beautiful mineral specimens that can be found in New Mexico.
The 24-inch-by-36-inch poster also highlights the photography
skills of renowned photographer Jeff Scovil. Scovil, an internationally
published photographer, is the author of Photographing Minerals,
Fossils, and Lapidary Materials. His work can be seen in mineral
and lapidary magazines throughout the United States, France, Germany,
and Russia. The 19 minerals featured in the recently published
poster are housed in New Mexico Tech's Mineral Museum. The Mineral
Museum is open seven days a week and has over 2,000 mineral specimens
on display.
"Minerals of New Mexico Poster, 2002" is published by
NMBGMR, a service and research division of New Mexico Tech, in
cooperation with the Mining and Minerals Division of New Mexico's
Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department and is
available for $5 plus $2.50 for shipping and handling. For more
