Pres. Lopez To Receive UNM Award

SOCORRO, N.M., December 5, 2001 -- New Mexico Tech President Daniel
H. López has been selected by the University of New Mexico
Alumni Association as the 2002 recipient of its Bernard S. Rodey
Award.
The Rodey Award criterium states that the annual award is
to be conferred on individuals "who have devoted an unusual
amount of time in a leadership capacity and whose efforts have
contributed significantly to the field of education."
The Tech President will be presented with the prestigious
award at the annual UNM Alumni Association Awards Dinner on
February 21, 2002, at the Sheraton Old Town Inn in Albuquerque.
López, who was appointed president of New Mexico Tech
in 1993, earned his bachelor of arts, master of arts, and Ph.D.
degrees at the University of New Mexico, all in the field of political
science.
