NMT Named in Princeton Review's "Best 311 Colleges"by George Zamora SOCORRO, N.M., September 29, 1998 --New Mexico Tech continues to rake in the accolades and enhance its national repute after having recently been listed among the best schools in the nation in the 1999 edition of The Princeton Review Guide to the Best 311 Colleges. The Princeton Review's annual survey, based on provided "inside information" and interviews with students who actually attend the various universities, rated New Mexico Tech highly in such areas as campus life, student admissions, financial aid options, and, particularly, academics. One Tech student wrote, "Most professors are extremely concerned with their students." Another agreed, acknowledging that, "The professors are very good and nearly always available in their offices." The diversity and interaction among New Mexico Tech students also received very favorable comments from the students who were randomly chosen to be interviewed for the university's two-page layout in the best-selling college guide. "This is the most diverse, open-minded and laid-back student body I have ever encountered," another anonymous student related. "Everyone is cool with each other," a freshman student added. |
