Jeremiah Wright Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is to honor and memorialize Jeremiah Wright of Raton, New Mexico, a student at New Mexico Tech who was tragically killed in a two-car accident on Sept. 28, 2002. (Please see Jeremiah Wright, 1979 - 2002.) Jeremiah Wright, a mechanical engineering major, was, in the words of his faculty advisor, "a student to emulate." Jeremiah was regarded throughout the campus as a soft-spoken, articulate, deep-thinking gentleman who was a meticulous, diligent engineer. He was also captain of the rugby team at the time of his death. Applicants for the Jeremiah Wright Memorial Scholarship should
be undergraduate students in good standing, who graduated from
a high school located in Colfax County, New Mexico. The recipient
of the Jeremiah Wright Memorial Scholarship will continue to receive
monies from this endowment until graduation, as long as funds
remain available and the recipient remains in good academic standing.
If there are no qualified students who graduated from this area
in any one year, the monies will be carried over and used in subsequent
years to attract students from this area. Donations may be sent to:
