Willow M. and Jean K. Burand Scholarship

Willow Burand was a 1953 mining engineering graduate of New Mexico School of Mines. He lived in Albuquerque for many years, and passed away in April 2001. In 1989, the Burands donated to Tech a piece of property in Socorro, requesting that it be sold to establish a scholarship fund in their names. Proceeds have been put into a scholarship fund.

The Burand Scholarship goes to an undergraduate student in any major who is enrolled full-time, is in good standing, and maintains a semester average and cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Eligible candidates who are believed to need scholarship support to stay in school are given priority, although formal needs determination is not required.
