Theme: I shoulda made a left at Albuquerque

SOCORRO, N.M., May 2, 2008 -- In a salute to the reality show currently filming on the New Mexico Tech campus, MAN VS. CARTOON (about the ongoing battle between Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner), the theme for the 2008 49ers parade is a quote from another Warner Bros. icon, Bugs Bunny, “I shoulda made a left at Albuquerque.”

The parade is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. There is no entry fee.

A new category has been added this year: Human-Powered Wheels. This category is for bicycles, tricycles, unicycles, skateboards, roller blades, and any other form of wheeled transportation powered by human muscle. Entrants may be groups or individuals.

Other parade categories are: floats, vehicles, bands, horses and burros, and New Mexico Tech entries.
