This page is to provide some official news on the hailstorm of Oct. 5 to the New Mexico Tech community, from the Public Information Office. We will update this as new information becomes available.

Parking Lot Clean Up October 20-25, 2004

Facilities Management and Residential Life have worked out a schedule to clean the parking lots around the Residence Halls. We're asking for your cooperation as we clean up the glass shards from the parking lot!

If you car can be moved, please make sure it's out of the designated parking lots on the designated days. If it can't be moved, we'll do our best to work around it!!!

From Jim McLain, associate director of business and finance, Oct. 19, 2004

"Facilities Management is meeting with roofing contractors about the damaged tile on the roofs of campus buildings. We hope to start the tile removal on Monday October 25, 2004.

"Window glass replacement in residence halls is, for the most part, complete and should be finished on Thursday October 21, 2004. Window screen replacement will begin once the windows have been completed. A contractor is working on the skylight replacements throughout campus.

"We think that we have completed the auto glass replacement in all official Tech vehicles, but if anyone has glass in a Tech car that still need to be replaced, they should contact the garage at 835-5940. Glass replacement on heavy equipment will begin this week.

"The debris clean-up on campus and the golf course continues and should be complete late this week to the middle part of next week. We have top-dressed the golf course greens and have a contractor on-site today to start top dressing the tees and fairways. The fairways and tees will take two to three weeks to top dress."
