President's Golf Tournament

Three Flights Of Fun!

Thursday and Friday, Sept. 18 and 19, 2014

The President’s Tourney is the largest single-day fund raising golf event in New Mexico. Last year, the tourney raised more than $170,000 for scholarships at New Mexico Tech.

Schedule of Events

Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014

          VIP Flight

  • 8:30 a.m. Registration and meal
  • 8:30-9:45 a.m. Practice time (hit balls)
  • 10 a.m.  Tee off for VIP Flight
  • 7 p.m. Private reception at the President’s residence

Friday, Sept. 19, 2014

Morning Flight

  • 6 a.m. Registration and breakfast
  • 6-7:15 Practice - driving range/putting green
  • 7:30 Tee off! Shot gun start.
  • 11:30-2 p.m.  Lunch at the Golf Pavillion

Afternoon Flight

  • Noon  Registration and lunch
  • Noon-1:15 Practice (hit balls)
  • 1:30 p.m. Tee off! Shot gun start
  • 6 p.m.  Dinner at President’s residence

Since President Dr. Daniel H. Lopez started the event in 1994, the scholarship fund has helped more than 225 students complete their education at New Mexico Tech.

In recent years the tournament has exploded in popularity. President Lopez and the planning committee added a third flight on Thursday to accommodate the ever-increasing demand. More than 300 golfers played in three flights in  2013.

Once again, this VIP Flight will be on Thursday for a more relaxed round of golf.
