"Mapping the Rio Grande," children's art and photography exhibit, spanning the length of the river from the Colorado Rockies to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. STUDENT JOB:

--KOAT-TV is looking for a student worker to report election results from the county courthouse in Socorro from 7 p.m. to midnight June 3. Anyone interested in working that night and earning some money should call Thomas Guengerich at 835-5617.

SOLVE VANPOOL HAS OPENING:

--The SoLLVE (Socorro- Los Lunas Vanpool Express) van has openings for interested commuters. The van leaves Los Lunas at 7 a.m. and picks up riders in Belen at 7:15, arriving at Tech between 7:50 and 7:55. Departure at 5:05 p.m. includes a swing past the research buildings west of campus. Cost is $100/month. Please contact Michelle Creech-Eakman mce@kestrel.nmt.edu if you have further questions or would like to sign up.

GYM LOCKERS:

--If you have a gym locker and wish to retain it, the annual $10 fee is due in May. Please see the Gym Office to pay the fee. Lockers which are not paid for are cleaned out, and contents are donated to Goodwill. Thank you.

FROM RED:

--Faculty on nine-month contracts can receive up to three months of support from private or federal grants or contracts if the funds are available. New this year, summer salaries for a 9-month faculty member may be charged at 3/9 to federal funding sources. Non-federal funding sources may be charged at 120% of 3/9. (NSF allows only 2/9) The first month of summer salary must be paid at the current year contract rate. The remaining two months may be paid at the new contract rate.

This year the summer research period begins May 12, 2008 and ends on August 10, 2008. There will be 6 pay periods this year. Requests for summer salary should be made on the Sponsored Salary Support Form now available at: http://infohost.nmt.edu/~red/pdfs/summersalary2008.pdf or in the R&ED office.

Please send the completed forms to the R&ED office by May 9, 2008 for requests beginning with the May 12, 2008 payroll period.
