Graduating geology senior Phillip Turner has been named Player of the Year by his New Mexico Tech Rugby Club teammates for the 2005 - 2006 term. New Mexico Tech's Rugby Club gave a mixed performance in opening their 2005-2006 campaign, recording one win against two losses at the 34th annual Santa Fe Ten-man team tournament over the Labor Day weekend. In El Paso last Saturday, Sept. 30, the New Mexico Tech Rugby Club dominated ball possession in the set scrums, convincingly won the majority of the inbounds throws (lineouts), and had a slight advantage in retaining possession after tackles (rucks and mauls).
