Student Employment

Student employment is a tradition at New Mexico Tech, and you will find a
variety of jobs open to you at Tech. Jobs on campus range from the very
general to the highly technical.

Please read our Student Employment Handbook! (PDF)

Go to Career Services (located in Student Affairs on the second floor of the Fidel Center), they will give you the password for MonsterTrack

Campus jobs are available through two programs:

  • Work-Study: Programs funded by the federal government or the State of New Mexico. Work-Study programs are designed to provide income and work experience in your field, as well as provide community service. To participate in this program you must have applied for financial aid using the FAFSA and have been awarded this through the Financial Aid Office. For more information go to the Work Study section under Financial Aid.
  • Part-Time Student Employment: Program open to students who are enrolled full-time in a regular degree program. Not based on need and the FAFSA does not have to be completed to participate in this program.

For a student to begin working on campus the following must be completed, please go to the correct office:

I-9 form Payroll Office in Wells Hall
Work Authorization Form Financial Aid Office 2nd floor of the Fidel Center

The Work Authorization must be completed before you begin working. You cannot work beyond the ending date on the authorization.

Note that students enrolled less than full-time are subject to IRS regulations regarding FICA/Medicare deductions.
