Trail Hike No. 3

The Tech Gym is organizing monthly hikes for students in an effort to improve student well-being. This is a great opportunity to visit new areas in the Socorro area, create a new healthy habit, and meet new people! The third hike of the fall semester will be the Socorro Single Track just north of campus. This trail is about five miles over undulating desert terrain and will take about two to three hours. Meet at the Swim Center at 9 a.m. Be prepared! Bring plenty of water, snacks, and other essentials. Trail Hike No. 5

The Tech Gym is organizing monthly hikes for students in an effort to improve student well-being. This is a great opportunity to visit new areas in the Socorro area, create a new healthy habit, and meet new people! The fifth hike of the fall semester will be the Chupadera Peak in the Bosque del Apache NWR. This trail is about 10 miles round-trip, climbs about 1,700 feet and will take five to six hours. The trail begins near Highway 1 and goes west, under I-25 and up to the peak, where you’ll be treated to a 360-degree view of the Rio Grande Valley. Meet at the Swim Center at 9 a.m. Be prepared! Bring water, snacks, and other essentials.
