Get the Led Out | NMTPAS

Get The Led Out is a group of six professional musicians who are passionate about their love of the music of Led Zeppelin. It's been their mission to bring the studio recordings of "the mighty Zep" to life on the big concert stage. This is not an impersonator act, but rather a group of musicians who were fans first, now striving to do justice to one of the greatest bands in rock history.  7:30 p.m. at Macey Center.

"Nosferatu" | NMTPAS

Nosferatu is the very first vampire film and one of the earliest horror films. Produced in 1921 by the artist Albin Grau and directed by the great F.W. Murnau, the silent film was almost lost forever due to legal backlash. A copyright lawsuit launched in 1922 over similarities to the novel Dracula, resulted in all but one copy of the film being destroyed. That one surviving copy breathed life back into the film by bringing it back into the mainstream, where this cult classic has been re-adapted and enjoyed by audiences around the world for nearly a century.  7:30 p.m. in Macey Center.

Contra-Tiempo's "Agua Furiosa" | NMTPAS

Agua Furiosa is loosely inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest and the Afro Cuban deity of the wind and storms, Oya. Through call and response, improvisational scores, multiple water themes and personal narrative both Black and Latino, Agua Furiosa invites audiences to face some of the gruesome contradictions of color, poverty and immigration in the United States. The work aims to invent new paradigms for how we think about and live inside of this shifting conversation of race in America. This rich blend of intentions, along with Contra-Tiempo’s imaginative collaboration between music, song, sound, set and costume, create a culturally inclusive theatrical medium representing a worldview that transcends boundaries of this post-post modern city of Los Angeles. The result is both personal and global.7:30 p.m. in Macey Center.

Dustbowl Revival | NMTPAS

Bluegrass. Swing. Hot jazz. Pre-war blues. Southern soul. New Orleans funk. The Dustbowl Revival is what you could call an American roots orchestra with eight full-time members — and they play it all, mashing the sounds of traditional American music into a genre-hopping, time-bending dance party that coaxes new fire out of familiar coal. This isn’t a throwback band. It’s a celebration of the sounds that have kept America moving for more than a century, performed with all the flair of a medicine show and rooted in the sweat and swagger of a juke joint song swap. 7:30 p.m. in Macey Center.
