New Engineering Lab Open House

The Academic Center for Technology and HSI-STEM invites faculty, staff, and students to the open house for a new Engineering Lab in Weir 3. Join us on Friday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Engineering Lab is a collaborative, multi-use, interdisciplinary space for students at NMT supported by the HSI-STEM Grant and it includes an interactive conference room, space for collaborative work, and a prototyping room.

NRAO Colloquium

Luca Ricci, a post-doc at Rice University, is the guest speaker for the NRAO-Socorro colloquium Announcement. Her talk is titled "Investigating the early formation and evolution of planetary systems with sub-mm and radio interferometers." He will also present recent results from ALMA and VLA projects aimed at 1) detecting dust surrounding young protoplanets, and 2) studying the distribution of solids in a debris disk around a young Solar-like star, which gives an insight onto the dynamical interaction between a planetesimal belt and a planetary system embedded in the disk. 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the Domenici Science Operations Center (NRAO).
