Dr. Jennifer Dunne of the Santa Fe Institute is the special guest feature for a seminar jointly hosted by the Earth and Environmental Science Department, the Bureau of Geology, and the Physics Department. Dunne's talk is "The Roles, Functions, and Impacts of Humans in Complex Ecological Networks." Dunne is the vice president for science and a professor at the Santa Fe Institute. By understanding how pre-industrial humans interacted with other species, we can gain new insights about modern humans. Such knowledge of the past can help us shape a better future. 4 p.m. in Workman 101.
