New Mexico Tech and the NRAO will host the 33rd Annual New Mexico Symposium on November 3 at the Domenici Science Operations Center in Socorro.

The event culminates with the 52nd annual Karl G. Jansky Lecture, featuring Dr Bernie Fanaroff in Workman 101. Fanaroff's public lecture is titled "Observing the Universe from Africa: Linking Radio Astronomy and Development." There will be an informal reception following the lecture.

The event features a full-day schedule of oral and poster presentations from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. at the NRAO. Astronomers from New Mexico and surrounding states – including students are invited to attend the symposium and present a paper. The NRAO is hosting a banquet starting at 5:30 p.m. at Macey Center
