Dr. Jeyhan Kartaltepe, the Rochester Institute of Technology, will present the NRAO-Socorro colloquium. Her talk is titled "What Drives Star Formation in the Most Luminous galaxies in the Universe." Kartaltepe will present the results of a detailed, multi-wavelength analysis of galaxies selected to have very high star-formation rates in the early Universe, at the key epoch when the majority of stars in the Universe formed. Kartaltepe is an assistant professor of physics and the deputy director of the Laboratory for Multiwavelength Astrophysics. She is also a Hubble Fellow with the National Optical Astronomy Observatory. 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the Domenici Science Operations Center (NRAO).
