NRAO Colloquium

Date: Fri. 18 Nov, 2016 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Duration: 1 Hour
Location: NRAO

Adam Ginsburg of the NRAO will present the NRAO-Socorro Colloquium. His talk is titled "High-mass Star Formation in the Galaxy's Densest Environments." 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the Domenici Science Operations Center (NRAO). Ginsburg will present ALMA and JVLA observations of a high-mass star-forming region in which dozens of O-stars have already formed, yet the gas mass is still much larger than the stellar mass. While high mass stars are evaporating their surrounding material, they are doing so inefficiently, suggesting that protocluster clumps form stars until they are able to exhaust their food source. https://science.nrao.edu/facilities/vla/ctw/coll/fall2016
