NRAO Colloquium

Date: Fri. 15 Apr, 2016 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Duration: 1 Hour
Location: NRAO

Dr. David Frayer of the NRAO-Green Bank will present the NRAO-Socorro colloquium. His talk is titled “NRAO Observations of the First Submillimeter Galaxy and the Status of ARGUS on the Green Bank Telescope.” He will present ALMA and VLA imaging observations of the very first sub-millimeter galaxy discovered with a confirmed counterpart. High-resolution VLA radio imaging along with the recent ALMA continuum and molecular gas observations of the system suggests a radio jet from the QSO may be inducing (or enhancing) star-formation in the nearby extremely red starburst source. 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the Domenici Science Operation Center (NRAO).
