Ana Juracic, doctoral candidate in the Physics Department, will defend her dissertation. Her talk is titled "The Moist Entropy, Moisture, Vorticity Budgets and Their Relation to the Tropical Cyclone Development. In the tropics, there is a constant supply of disturbances, which serve as potential seeds for tropical cyclones. However, not all of those disturbances intensify into tropical storms or hurricanes. Noon in the Tripp Room of the Skeen Library (room 212).
