Doctoral candidate Saska Gjorgjievska of the Physics Department will defend her dissertation, which is titled "Tropical Cyclogenesis: Interaction Between Dynamics and Thermodynamics." Gjorgjievska has researched observational data of tropical disturbances over the North Atlantic and the Caribbean, and the West Pacific are analyzed in order to investigate tropical cyclogenesis. She will present data from 37 cases observed during three field campaigns are used to investigate possible correlations between various dynamic and thermodynamic variables. 9 a.m. in Speare 113.
