Dr. Katie Richardson is the southern New Mexico field representative for Senator Martin Heinrich's office. She will present the Physics Department seminar, which is titled, "Random Paths." Career paths are never straightforward. Richardson will talk about alternative careers in science for undergraduate and graduate students, the importance of effective communication, and how she ended up being happiest doing government work as a Ph.D. in particle physics. She will also address the pressing need for scientists to engage in public policy. Students are especially encouraged to attend and ask questions. 4 p.m. in Workman 101.
