Physics Department Seminar

Date: Thu. 9 Apr, 2015 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Duration: 1 Hour
Location: Workman Center

Dr. Gloria L Manney will present a Physics Department colloquium. Manney is an adjunct professor at New Mexico Tech and a senior research scientist with the NorthWest Research Associates. Her talk is titled "Anatomy and Physiology of Earth’s Upper Tropospheric Jet Streams." The Earth’s upper tropospheric jet streams exhibit complex, everchanging features that reflect
radiatively and dynamically driven variations in the large scale atmospheric circulation. They
are closely linked to the evolution and motion of weather systems, and also influence and are
influenced by the stratospheric polar vortex. 4 p.m. in Workman 101.
