Accreditation

New Mexico Tech is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools as a doctoral degree-granting university. Its credits are accepted by leading colleges and universities throughout the United States. It is approved by the Attorney General of the United States for the attendance of nonimmigrant students, by the United States Department for Exchange Visitor Program P-I-1282, and by the Veteran's Approval Division of the Office of Military Affairs for attendance by students entitled to veteran's benefits.

The chemistry curriculum is approved by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society.

Our bachelor's programs accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) are: chemical engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, engineering mechanics, materials engineering, mineral engineering, and petroleum and natural gas engineering. Newly added programs are in the review process to achieve full accreditation.

The Graduate School is a member of the Western Association of Graduate Schools and the Council for Graduate Schools in the United States.
